"THEFT TALK" Offender Services
The majority of our clients are referred by the courts and therefore attend by mandate, not voluntarily. We provide most of our services in small groups ranging from 8 to 10 offenders. Because our services are often court ordered they must be time fixed. At the present time most of our offender programs are limited to one three or four hour session. We have a cognitive restructuring theoretical base and use an impact counseling model for service delivery. Basically, this model is the result of research which indicates most significant change in counseling occurs within the first three to five hours. You might wish to review our article on Brief Therapy.
"THEFT TALK" offender services are not designed to serve offenders who are seriously involved in substance use or abuse. Our view is that theft and substance abuse are separate issues and that substance abuse issues should be dealt with first. Offender Service Programs offered by "THEFT TALK" are as follows:
Adult Offender Program (age 18 and older)
E-Class (Take a email theft class from home)
Correspondence Class (A theft class from home
Juvenile Offender Program (ages 12-17)
Private Counseling (theft offenders only)
